Hardness of Heart

30 01 2009

As long as he was in control, it didn’t matter to him the direction of his heart. Rage could be a beneficial tool in getting what he wanted. It felt good to let it all out when desired; holding back only when necessary. He had it all under control…

…until the day his heart became as stone.

Only in Him, the God of mercy, we have this hope:

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;
I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekial 36:26

The Rock

16 11 2008

He is on a path of his own making, headed in a direction of his own choosing, and he is furious at the rock blocking his way.

He can’t go around nor over it, it is too massive. So he decides to break it down, remove it altogether.

In his mind, I am that rock. He has purposed in his heart to break and tear me down so that I will no longer get in his way.

But he is mistaken. I am not that which blocks his path.

It is far better to cast yourself upon The Rock than to have The Rock cast upon you.

Matthew 21:44
