Welcome!

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness
will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out
and leap like calves released from the stall.
Malachi 4:2

This verse was given to me by God back in the late 1990s. I had hit the end—life had become too hard. This verse said differently. If you read the verses surrounding it, you don’t have to go far to figure out what I was dealing with: an abusive husband.

I had done everything I could know to do, tried every avenue, and had just left what would be our last counseling session. In it the counselor had stated our marriage would end in divorce because my husband would eventually force it there. He wasn’t getting better, he was getting worse. Nine months later, I filed for separation. My husband turned it into a divorce.

One divorce and ten years later, I now live that verse. I have been incredibly set free from the bonds of abuse and tyranny. I am not only leaping in release, I am dancing. These pages contain reflections of that journey (at times battle). I made it, and so can you. Not because of who I am, or who you are, but because of who God is.

I am not going into a theological discussion about divorce, we can leave that up to the theologians. God hates divorce—He also hates a man covering himself with violence toward the wife of his youth (Malachi 2:13-16). Sometimes He turns that man over to his depravity, to the very hardening of his heart.

My prayer is that you too will see our great and wonderful Saviour rise on your behalf with healing in His wings, and that you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.

Before you go any further, read Malachi. It’s a short book.
